Product Description
The Chamba Thaal is an emblem of the traditional metal craft heritage of Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. Each plate is painstakingly crafted by local artisans through a delicate embossing process on plain brass sheets, working tiny tools just 1 mm at a time to create intricate religious motifs.
Traditional motifs & crafting styles
- Ganesh Thaal: a central four-handed image of Lord Ganesha adorned with iconic symbols including the conch, bangles, crown, and floral garlands.
- Vishnu Thaal: a larger motif featuring Lord Vishnu seated on a lotus in the centre, encircled by his avatars (Dashavatara - Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, and Kalki).

Yes. Brass, copper and kansa naturally develop tonal variations and patina with time and use. This ageing is characteristic of genuine metalware and can be retained for a lived-in appearance or polished when a brighter finish is preferred.
Clean gently using a soft cloth or sponge and follow the care instructions provided for the specific product. Dry thoroughly after washing and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or harsh abrasive cleaners.
